FTA Bike Ride!
9AM at Old Mill Park (Riders must Sign-in between 8AM to 8:45AM, wheels rolling at 9AM)
Ride in the woods = Happy!
There will be three groups for this ride; Beginner, Intermediate, & Advanced.
Riders MUST sign-in at the pop-up tent at Old Mill Park.
Riders MUST have an operational bike and MUST have a helmet.
All rides will start at Old Mill Park and go down the Heritage trail to the VOC.
- The advanced group, led by Laura Maple, will go up Scout, Naysayer, Monolith (top), Fall Quarry, Epiphany, Pins and Needles, Ridgeline, Owl, Beach, USGS, back to Scout and back to Old Mill Park. (Total approximate mileage – 16 miles (includes 2 miles on the Heritage trail)
- The intermediate group, led by Lynn Faust, will go up Scout, Fall Quarry, Epiphany, Pins and Needles, Ridgeline, down Rock and Roll, Beach, USGS, back to Scout and back to Old Mill Park. (Total approximate mileage – 10 miles (includes 2 miles on the Heritage trail)
- The beginner Group, led by Kristin Frizzel, will go up Scout, USGS, Beach (down to the fire pit) and back out to Old Mill Park. (Total approximate mileage – 8 miles (includes 2 miles on the Heritage trail)
Parking is available at Old Mill Park, but if Full, overflow will have to go onto street along the river.

If you can run 6-7 miles on the roads at a 10:30 minute-per-mile or better pace, and wish to inject some fun and adventure into your running, then please read on! If you can’t, then please train-up and keep an eye out for our future runs.
For this event we will run a 6-7 and 11-12 mile route on the Quarry trails system. This is a great way to get to know the trails, get in a quality workout, and meet new runner peeps!
We will run short segments at a conversational pace, regroup, then head to the next regroup point. No one gets dropped! We hope to have sweepers to take-up the tail end; and from what I hear, that’s where the good times happen! And yes, we strongly recommend that you bring a friend, a neighbor and your training partner!
No special equipment is needed! Road running shoes are great on these well-established trails. Some form of hydration (fluid) is strongly recommended (it’s July!)
The route: We’ll start out at Old Mill and run the Heritage trail to the VOC to pick up the Quarry Trails. The 11-12 mile group will head out Scout and pick up the USGS trail at the quarry. We’ll run USGS to the pump house and take Gratitude to Owl Loop before swinging down to the beach for a quick swim. We’ll head back to the quarry via the Ridge and then back Scout to the Heritage Trail and wrap it up at Old Mill. At a conversational pace this should take about 3 hours. Either way, there’s no cars and lots of trees!

The route: We’ll start out at the trail kiosk and go out Scout, USGS, Beach, up Rock and Roll, Ridgeline (backwards), down Pool Pass, and back to Old Mill Park.
Post-FTA Bike, Run, and Hike!
We will have a tailgate snack and beverage fest at Old Mill Park. We will have ice, water, and juice boxes for the kids at the FTA tent at Old Mill Park.
Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks for yourselves, or to share!!
